Bronze Medals

AIA Florida Bronze Medal

The Bronze Medal is one of the profession's most prestigious awards given to students. Each semester of the school year, a Bronze Medal is bestowed upon one student from each of the six universities with an architecture program. See below for the criteria.

Criteria

AIA Florida’s Bronze Medal recognizes a student who has achieved outstanding academic distinction in the study of architecture.

Candidates are required to be graduating during the current year with a professional degree or graduate degree in architecture and must be a member of the school’s chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS). Schools may have one recipient each per professional and graduate degree for each graduating class.

A letter of recommendation from a faculty member must be submitted. The letter should include verification of the above eligibility requirements and that the student’s grades and scholastic achievements are in the top 10 percent of their class. It should also include a description of any other honors including awards, scholarships and other academic recognitions. The time and date of recipient college’s awards ceremony must be provided so that AIA Florida can arrange to have a representative present.
