2024 Design Awards Jury
A distinguished body of experts form the architectural community will convene in Seoul this spring to evaluate workssubmitted by architects in Florida, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands for the 2024 AIA Florida Design Awards.

Gibson Rhie, KIRA, LEED AP, Chair of International Relations Committee, Korea Institute of Registered Architects and Executive Director of SAMOO Architects and Engineers, Jury Chair
Gibson is a leading figure in advancing Korean architecture to the global stage. His works range from Africa to Asia. From master planning of new urban areas in southeast Asia to a city hall in an African country, his projects deal with sensitive social and climate issues while achieving design excellence. Notable works include: the Embassy of the state of Kuwait in Korea, D-Palace, Kenya Advanced Institute of Technology and affordable housing in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Yongkyo Jeong, AIA, KIRA, LEED AP, CEO and President, Junglim Architecture
Yongkyo Jeong, AIA, KIRA is the CEO and president of Junglim Architecture, one of the largest architectural design practices in Korea that offers comprehensive design services throughout the world. His portfolio covers many regions including China and Africa, as well as Korea. Some of his notable works include the Korea Chamber of Commerce & Industry Headquarters, the STX Headquarters in Dalian, China and the JW Marriott in Tripoli, Libya.

Jin Baek, Professor, Seoul National University
Jin Baek is a renowned researcher and professor of architecture at Seoul National University. He has served as a juror in many international and domestic competitions and served as advisor to many government committees. He has published books and articles on architectural theory and history including "Nothingness: Tadao Ando’s Christian Sacred Space" (Routledge, 2009) and "Architecture as the Ethics of Climate" (Routledge, 2016).

Jeong-im Kim, Principal, Seoro Architects
Jeongim Kim has worked on various scales such as master plan and architectural design, and interior design. Her scope covers diversified project types from residential to corporate. She has served as a jury member in many competitions and award programs and is the recipient of awards including the Seoul Architecture Award, Jeju Island Architectural and Cultural Award (Grand prize), TSK Fellowship Award and Korean Architecture Award. Kim has also served as the general architect of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education's "Classroom Making Project with Dreams," as a public architect of Seoul, and as a national architectural policy committee member.

Jongdae (Jaydi) Park, Principal of JEJEHAAP Architects
Jaydi (Jongdae) Park is currently operating JEJEHAAP architectural studio in Seoul. Prior to this co-founded studio, he worked in Samoo Architects and Engineers for 18 years including overseas experience in southeast Asia and mainly led several design competition projects, Kia Red Dot Design Awards and SK Bioscience Campus. Recently, he won the International Idea Competition for Jamsu Bridge (Seoul) Pedestrianisation (2023) and won the 3rd prize for the International Competition for the Seoul Metropolitan City Library (2023). He obtained his master degree in Architectural Design in Bartlett School, UCL. He believes in the value of interaction between narratives and new technologies in architecture.
